Thought of the day

We might not always have what we wished for or do what we have always wanted to do but we should always be grateful for everything we do have as there are a lot of people in the world who would dream for the lives we live!

Things I'm grateful for:
1.     Having the family I do have, they support you through everything and only want the best for you.
2.     Having the *BFF's and friends I do, they are real and say it how it is.
3.     I have a roof over my head and my belly is never far from a tasty treat.
4.     To have been lucky enough to have the upbringing I have had - which would not have happened if I didn't have the parents I have.
5.     And lastly health - (touch wood, touch an elders head).

I think the human race moan a lot about things that shouldn't matter at all. I have all 5 of those so what does it matter if I wished my life was like this or if I wanted things to be like that - everything else will just fall in to place as it should. Next time I am ever in a humph or funk I will read this and remind myself how lucky I really am...

I'm also a big believer of Karma....Whatever you put out there will come back to you...Put out your positive thoughts and nice happy things will come back to surround you - If you don't try you will never know.

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. - Dalai Lama

I've got a spell on you....

To get in to the spirit of Halloween for the first time in my whole existence we had a Halloween 'carve off'. When I say 'carve off' it merely means two people carving pumpkins for the fun of it there was no competition or prize involved!

I'm not going to lie I'm extremely impressed with the outcome of our plump pumpkins we went for the pretty and scary theme. As it's still the Eve of Halloween and you all still have time to run out and get a good pumpkin (if you're lucky, they were nearly sold out yesterday) I thought I would give you the low down of how to carve!

Step 1
Choose 'the right' pumpkin. It can’t be too short, to skinny or mouldy. We found 2 plumpish roundish ones which I forgot to take a picture of!

Step 2
Choose the perfect pattern. We went for a beautiful bow and a scary smile, then draw them or trace them on to your pumpkin using a Biro. This makes for easy carving.

Step 3
Now it's time to get your carve on! Firstly you need to cut out a lid so your pumpkin can be filled with scary tea lights. Draw a circle or square around the stalk and carefully using a knife carve at an angle toward the middle of your pumpkin. Carving straight down will mean your lid will not sit back on top of your pumpkins head.

Step 4
Scoop out the guts! Using a spoon carefully get rid of the pumpkin pulp and seeds. Don't throw them away as it can be used for making toasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin soups! Once you have a clean looking pumpkin your ready for step 5.

Step 5
Next using single knife strokes (stabs) carve around your shape that you wish to give your pumpkin. This has to be done very carefully and you must have patience with your masterpiece. After, get rid of any extra pumpkin pulp inside and make an indent for your candle to sit. Lastly, light your tea lights, put on the lid and watch people drive past your house slowly to take a peek!

It's not a beauty review......

I promised myself that this would not be a blog of reviews. However, it would most definitely be against Simderella law if this first post wasn’t about -.-.-.

Reading a blog post on Latest in Beauty made me feel certain that my first official post could be nothing but about -.-.- If you were a follower of my last blog and haven't already guessed which brand -.-.- I'm talking about - you would go to jail, you would not pass go & you would not collect £200.

This is a beauty brand that I admire for many reasons. I just love everything they stand for and when I see a new release I actually get a sparkly feeling inside.
  • They're are one of the first cosmetics brand to have a recycling programme and doing a bit for the environment is a must (ethical stance - tick).
  •    They bring out a beauty range every year, endorsed by an eccentric celebrity to represent their brand with all profits going to charity (helping others - tick).
  • They bring out limited edition collections. Which I always look forward to as the packaging is always unique and well themed (pretty things - tick)
  • Originally created for the runway and today used by many lovely ladies and even lads! (quality - tick)
Guessed it yet?

The list could go on forever but I won't bore you too much tonight. Go online and treat yourself to one of their   glam products and give yourself a pat on the back because you must love -.-.- as much as I do.

It is of course..........M.A.C - Makeup, Art, Cosmetics ♥

Bonjour Senorita!

(Yeap I know I’ve just mixed French and Spanish)

So I’ve decided to start up my blogging AGAIN (storyofsimderella.tumblr.com). I’m not sure which direction it’s going to take: I am a lover of everything under the Estee Lauder Group, love to bake or love to eat cakes that have been baked should I say, blown away by the pretty amazing place we call planet earth and becoming obsessed with spinning classes at the gym!

 I’m Simderella and it’s lovely to meet-chya!

Happy Reading!
