Welcome to 2012!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you are enjoying New Years Day and taking advantage of possibly the last legal day of binge eating and relaxing!

I wanted to share with you my top beauty products from 2011 that I will carry on worshipping using in 2012.

Number 1: Clinique Anti Blemish Soloutions

Clinique anti-blemish solutions clarifying lotion, cleansing foam and moisturiser.

I started to cleanse, tone and moisturise for the first time in 2011 and started off using this Clinique trio. My skin has never felt so squeaky clean! Really has helped to changed the way my skin looks and feel so will be a must use this year.

Number 2: Morrocan Oil

Moroccan Oil Inense Hydrating Mask &
Moroccan Oil
I have been using Moroccan Oil since February 2011 and it does work! I've used so many hair products which say they will make your hair do X,Y & Z and never do. A bit like does Cheryl Coles hair in the L'oreal ad, is it really that perfect because of their products? Anyway these products do exactly what they say on the tin. I've been using the oil after washing and straightening and using the Intense Hydrating Mask as a conditioner once a week or every other week. I'll be using these products and maybe even treating myself to the shampoo at some point in 2012!

Number 3: Barry M Foil Effects

Barry M Foil Effects in Gold

This is a polish which I will use all year round in some way or other! Check out my post on why I love it here. In summary it's easy to apply, you need minimum coats of it and it just looks great!

Number 4 (last but by no means least): Nars Blush Bronzer Trio

NARS from left to right
Orgasm Blush
Albatross Highlighter
Laguna Bronzer
No words can describe how convenient this little beauty is. All three of the best Nars products kept safe in a little zip compact. These products are a party in a purse and quite possibly one of my favourite products! The highlighter can be used a an eye shadow and bronzer mixed with the blush creates a colour which is to die. What more could you ask for.

What products did you find in 2011 that you will carry on using this year?

A girl can never own too much leopard print....

I got the inspiration for these eyes from Karla who works with MUA and thought I'd give them a go! **Excuse the bushy eyebrows my threading lady is on holiday : (

They are really easy to create and here is everything I used:

  • Sephora Moonshadow baked palette - I used  the gold on the top row and brown on the bottom right of this Sephora palette
  • Liquid Eyeliner - I used M.A.C and e.l.f cream liner in black
  • Pencil Eyeliner - M.A.C
  • High Lengths Mascara - Clinque
  • Brushes - Fearne Cotton range for boots and e.l.f cosmetics.
I'm not going to give you a step by step guide on how to recreate this look because the lovely Karla has done a splendid job over on the MUA blog here: http://muacosmetics.blogspot.com/2011/11/mua-goes-wild-with-leopard-print-eye.html

I love this Sephora Moonshadow baked palette as all the colours shimmer and sparkle once on and they are really pigmented. The best thing about this palette is that the colours can be used in the day or evening. My favourite is the gold on the top row.

I'm still getting to grips with the e.l.f cream liner I purchased when they had a special offer recently. It's really good at helping to add some va va voom and does gives a really strong finish.

The brushes I used were a mixture of the new e.l.f brushes I purchased (which I will be doing a post on later this week) and Fearne's brush range which can be purchased from boots. Both are really good and I love the leopard print design on Fearne's range.

I used a new mascara on my eyes today, High Lengths mascara by Clinique. I got it as a free gift with my purchases during their 'Bonus Time' offer. I didn't even have apply to many coats of mascara and it's worked really well in lengthening my lashes. However, it does feel weird using a comb to apply instead of a normal mascara brush.

Do you own any Sephora products? Would you like to see swatches from this set?

Cheers To The Freakin' Weekend

I've read 6 books in 5 months! All four Twilight books and the first two of Stieg Larssons trilogy (The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire). I want to finish the third one and then go on to read One Day and George Orwell - 1984.

I can't wait to for December because I'm going to be supporting sparkly, glittery nail varnish for Christmas. I've been giving my nails a 'break' and using Nails Inc Vitamin E Oil Pen (nearly) everyday to avoid yellow nail stains that I've read all about.

I'm starting to take make up more seriously. I've even gone and got myself 4 different brushes especially for applying make up to your eyes from E.L.F. There will be a blog post to follow on what I spent my monies on.

We're 36 days away from 2012 and I actually don't know where the past 11 months have gone! I've been extremely busy this year. Some of things I have been doing are: Getting a degree, planning a wedding, finding jobs, becoming an auntie, readjusting to the 'real' world from uni 'world' and looking after the special people in my life.

I turned twenty two this year and I've started to cleanse and tone my face properly using grown up stuff by Clinique! I really love their 3 step programme and their well known 'bonus time' offers. I purchased 3 items and got nine things free. NINE THINGS FREE.

After years of dyeing my hair light brown I've finally gone back to dark....and I love it.

Have a great weekend everyone!

10 Simderella Commandments

Thou shall eat cake every Friday. It's important to ensure that at least one day of the week is filled with sprinkles and sugar.

Thou shall watch Gossip Girl - even if it's just to ponder in to the world of Blair Wardorf her problems are much more interesting than ours.

Thou shall remove all make-up every night before bed. Don't worry when you're dreaming about Chace Crawford, he won't mind.

Thou shall be grateful for what we have - Shelter, food & love.

Thou shan't give up and will go on to conquer dreams and aspirations. The world is what we make of it and we SHOULD make it good.

Thou shall not be fake. Barbie dolls are not 'real' for a reason.

Thou shall keep up with all the latest beauty industry gossip. M.A.C and many other exciting brands ahem*Elemis, Clinique, Sanctuary, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Aveda and NARS* will not admire themselves.

Thou shall read horoscopes when the world is looking grim - They have been written for a reason you know.

Thou shan't make others feel bad about themselves. This is a sin and forbidden.

Thou shall always give 100% in everything, the world is what we put in it after all.

Happy Wednesday everyone!
